Extollo International is a social-good business that operates a construction training center in Haiti and is in the process of building an auto care facility and a training program in auto repair and maintenance.

We’re looking for a person of high character who loves adventure, is experienced in auto care and who enjoys working with their hands to teach and equip others so they can reach their potential.

 

The Auto Mechanic will lead the maintenance and repair of Extollo’s vehicle fleet along with training, coaching, and mentoring Haitian staff and students in the trade. The Auto Mechanic ensures projects are well planned and organized, run safely, and executed efficiently in collaboration with the General Manager and General Contractor. The Auto Mechanic oversees employees, subcontractors, and students on the work site, ensuring a professional, safe, positive, and effective work environment for everyone.

Extollo offers a compensation package that includes comfortable housing, all utilities including internet, 24-hour security, free lunch each weekday, use of an Extollo vehicle (shared), and a modest salary. Those semi retired or fully retired may find this to be a great opportunity to share their experience with those who need it the most.

We are looking for professionals who can give anywhere from 2 to 26 weeks at a time, and ideally travel to our campus in Haiti a few times a year to keep continuity.

Overview:

• Role: Auto Mechanic

• Projects: Setting up an auto repair facility on the Extollo campus in Bercy, Haiti; developing an Auto Care Level 1 automotive training classes in collaboration with the US-based training program team; operate auto care facility starting with in-house maintenance and service work and moving into repair work, i.e. brakes, suspension etc., mentoring and providing hands-on training to a small group of Extollo staff.

• Skills: Organization and planning, safety, quality control, ASE-level auto service experience, and mentoring and teaching with patience, humility, and a commitment to excellence.

• Task: Help build and operate an auto care facility, build training program around facility, mentor and train a highly-select group of Extollo staff/alumni to build a business that will last. 

• Duration: 2 to 26 weeks - even up to 3 years

• Notes: This could be two different people working as a team sharing time in Haiti
